2007 Camry Headlight Raising
Hey Guys,
Just a quick question...can you raise the headlights on a 2007 camry? I know a lot of the 2IS guys do it and I can see why. My camry's headlights just point way to low. I was checking around my light today and found a polygonal thing that I can turn. Now, I don't know wheter that is for left and right adjustment or up and down.
Have you guys had any experience with this car and its headlights? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
harut44

best thing is to park like 10 feet away from a garage door or a wall, turn on the headlights and just mess around with the ***** to see which one does what and set it at the height u like it.
Thanks for the reply.
I did, but I didn't see it make a difference (I thought it made it go to the left and right more but I can be wrong). That is the thing I'm confused about...Or do I have to look somewhere else for height adjustment?
Does CA have regular car safety inspections? If so, I'd recommend taking it to a state-run insection station (Toyota dealers will probably have one). They will set your lights in accordance with state standards.
The high-intensity lights on a lot of modern cars ( HID, Xenon, arc-lamp, etc...)are set a little on the low side for reason....they can easily blind oncoming drivers if they are set too high.

CA does NOT have safety inspections, at least not state-run ones like other states.
you should look in your owner's manual and see what's what about your headlights. it usually includes basic maintenance instructions..

I think the only state run tests are for salvage vehicles only. I'm not positive but pretty sure...Salvage vehicles, which get purchased again, must go through an inspection with the CHP before they can get registered.
back on topic...WIll do whoster I will check the manual tonight to see if there is anything on the topic. I just wondered if any of the 2IS guys would know anything about the Camry's headlights.
