Default <dealer Story>

Ok, I need my main seal replaced on my transmission...aka the Pump seal..Aka the front seal

--I call lexus if queens and they seem helpful but not knowledgeable

They give me the right part number for my main seal but unfortunately don't have my exhaust gaskets in stock.

Because they seemed unsure I gave Lexus of Manhattan a call

--The rep is trying to talk me into getting hte wrong part!!!!!!

I have leaking transmission fluid and he is trying to get me to replace my CRANK SHAFT seal....

What does the crank shaft seal have to do with leaking TTRANSMISSION fluid.

wtf???

Not only that..the guy was such an as***** and I ask him to confirm the part number for me and he claims he is not allowed to give a part number while Lexus of Queens and Lexus of Long Island was able to give it to me.

1. Lexus workers should be individuals who know and love Lexuses....Not dumasses who don't even know what the difffernce between engine oil and transmission fluid is!!

I am MAD.

ON TOP OF ALL THIS:
I CALLED THREE DEALERS!!!!

ALLLLL THREE DEALERSSS GAVE ME DIFFFERENT PRICES FOR THE SAMEEE PART!!

WTH???

Lexus of Manhattan = EMBARASSMENT!!

Lexus of Manhattan, Bay Ridge Lexus and Lexus of Queens are all owned by the same person and they all SUCK at everything. Lexus of Qns is the newest location so they haven't been completely tainted yet but they are quickly catching up. Order your parts from Carson.

Bayridge Lexus, Lexus of Queens and Lexus of Manhattan are run by the same folks. Horrible I purchased my car from Bayridge Lexus in 2000,and would never go back to those morons again for service ever! Contact Lexus of Rockville Centre. Speak to Service Consultant Gerado Giannattasio. He will take good care of you. Tell him Sean with the black modded GS sent you. I had coupons for them that I posted before..https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...CKVILLE+CENTRE

If I get anymore, I will post them up again.

Good luck.

You'd think Lexus would have a fit with these dealers if they were tarnishing their name.

Heck, the coupons are still good, and expire on 9/30/07.. Print them out and present it when you go in. Free oil change and other discounts for you.

Hmmm, if corporate values their "pursuit for perfection", they should closely work with the dealers rather than brush customers off and say "they're individually owned".

Just order through carson (l-tunedparts.com or sewell lexus-parts.com)

One huge misconception is that parts prices are fixed. It is very common to have dealers have much different prices on the exact same part. If you have time to wait for shipping, you can find the best deals from an online parts vendor. A lot of times, parts counters don't like to give you part numbers because they know you'll go buy the same part from a cheaper Internet vendor.

A front main seal has nothing to do with transmission fluid, unless you're using transmission fluid as motor oil.

a front main seal aka the pump seal is located in the tranny man.

the manhattan guy was trying to sell me a crank shaft seal which has NOTHING to do with a tranny leak..

the front main seal is in the tranny and when not installed properly or damaged will cause transmission oil to leak, so it has EVERYTHING to ddo with transmission fluid

A "Front Main Seal" is the same as a Front Crank Shaft Seal. Everyone who works with cars understands it this way. It's no wonder the parts guy was trying to sell you the Front Crank Shaft Seal because that's what you asked for!

It is also called a "front pump seal".

As for the different prices you got. It works like this. Toyota / Lexus have "Dealer cost" (what it cost the dealer) and "List price" What Toyota recommends the price should be. There is warranty price but thats another story. Some dealers will sell the parts at "List price" where others will sell it for 3-5% over list. I sold Toyota parts for a while. (one of many dirty little secrets)

This car should be in the shop already. Luxury name plate vehicles cost $$$ in repairs. It goes with the territory buddy. Why own a luxury nameplate vehicle if you cannot afford to maintain it? Like my momma always told me "Don't jump into something that you can't swim out of."

Lexus of Manhattan Reviews a solid 1 out of 5
