I always thought I wanted a NSX until I got a ride in a 2002 NSX (didn't actually drive any)
With the engine right behind me it sounded just like my mom's accord so it was off my list.
As for Porsches, drive it, if you love it, buy one, if you don't it's not for you.

Just like Porsches, I never cared about any of them til I drove the 2000+ models.

I think you just made my point. The NSX gives you something similar that you'd get in a car that cost $100K plus. That is exactly what I was saying when I said there isn't much of anything out there that will give you the same driving dynamics that the NSX gives you UNLESS you spend north/over $100K. I didn't say nothing is faster as there are a lot of cars faster, but few have its driving dynamics. If Gordon Murray can use the NSX as a target when he built the McLaren F1 Street car then I think the NSX has a little something desirable when it comes to its drive.
