Default Most expensive auto repair bill

Just curious but what is the most expensive auto repair bill that you have ever had to pay. I only ask because I have one in the shop right now that will probably trump all, and it is not a customized car in any way shape or form.

I have a 2007 Mercedes S 550 in the shop right now that the customer severly overheated and locked up the engine on. My cost on the engine is $33,000 brand new from MB, I think he is going to have me do it being that the MB dealer here quoted him anywhere from $55,000 to $60,000 for the whole job.....OUCH....

DAM! 55-60 grand for a new engine?! If he went with MB's job, he might as well buy a new S class.

I don't get it shouldn't this be covered under power train warranty?

Was he towing a yacht or something?

I have a local business contact with a Veyron...

He picked up a nail in one of the rear Michelin PAX tires
and it legally could not be patched.

Michelin uses a special tire with an insert so the tires
can be run with ZERO air pressure for a short time.
The tires are a weird metric size and require special
mounting equipment.

The wheel had to be air-freighted to Germany and back
for installation of a new tire.

Total bill, one tire + mount + balance + 2-way air freight: $10,900

Not the biggest repair bill ever, but remember, this was for one tire...

The whole story is that he was driving and hit a tire in the road that put a hole in the bottom of the radiator, the car was taken to a shop that repaired the damage but the head gasket had already been compromised, the cust then continued to drive the car until it just wouldn't run anymore due to overheating....remember the warranty doesn't cover stupid, but I bet the repair bill will cure this condition

The most I ever had was $8K. It was for a crash to the es300 in the rear. The quarter panels were f***ed up. They wanted $4000 for parts and $4000 for labor.
