That's crazy talk. The Sonata V6 'powerplant' has been praised many times over.
Hyundai powerplants are not known for either high HP/torque levels or exceptional fuel economy (that is one of the company's few engineering hurdles to overcome) but they certainly do not "suck" as MR F1 puts it. And their automatic transmissions have become quite smooth and refined.

If Hyundai made an AWD passenger car like Subaru (which they don't), I'd buy either make in a heartbeat. Hyundais have become that good.

It is just a matter of time before Hyundai (or Koreans) catches up with the Japanese.

It's on my review list as soon as it becomes available.
I'm not impressed with the front end, however.....IMO it looks too much like the fugly 2007 Camry and Yaris front ends.

Because Lexus and Toyota are just oozing and overflowing with soul and passion, right?

Why wouldn't you?!

Anyways... As for the Hyundai, not feeling the Camry front end and E92 rear... The car may drive pretty decent with many features, but they really need fresh design ideas and stop taking cues from other manufacturers. Be a leader, not a follower.

Maybe, but not why I got the gs430. If I was after a status symbol, it would not of been a Lexus… I thought I was getting quality

I dunno.. but Hyundai has come a loong way. Their vehicles are pretty damn impressive. I'd dare say they compare to the Camrys and Accords of last generation or the generation before (which is pretty damn good in terms of buil quality)

It definitely has some MB and BMW qualities.. I hope the actual production car looks like that or it won't live up to its expectations..
