Default Top 10 sedans under 35K

http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/auto...-for-under-35k

Top Ten Sedans Under $35,000

Most of these models were chosen from the Yahoo! Autos Car Finder, and each had to fit certain criteria. Each sedan had to be priced between $25,000 and $35,000, include anti-lock brakes and boast an impressive range of standard features. Most of all each had to be a good value and have a great sense of style.

2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

At a glance:

C300 Sport/C300 Luxury

Price: Starting at $31,975

Engine and drivetrain: 3.0-liter V6, 228-horsepower, 221 lb-ft torque; 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive.

MPG: 18 city/26 hwy (manual), 18 city/25 hwy (automatic)

C350 Sport

Engine and drivetrain: 3.5-liter V6, 268-horsepower and 258 pound-feet torque, 7-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive.

MPG: 17 city/25 hwy

2008 Acura TSX

What we think:

We like the TSX not only for its fleet-footed engine and smooth ride, but also for the forward-thinking features and available options. The TSX is a great vehicle to add to the shopping list.

At A Glance:

2008 Acura TSX

Price: $28,190

Engine and drivetrain: 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, 205 horsepower, 164 lb-ft torque; 6-speed

manual or 5-speed automatic; front-wheel drive.

MPG: 19 city/28 hwy (manual), 20 city/28 hwy (automatic)

2007 Audi A4 2.0T

What we think:

Audi’s A4 is a segment leader for a simple reason; it delivers German luxury at an affordable price.

At a glance:

2007 Audi A4 2.0T

Price: $28,240

Engine and drivetrain: 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine, 200 horsepower, 207 lb-ft torque; 6-speed manual transmission or multitronic CVT available; front-wheel drive.

MPG: 23 city/34 hwy (manual), 24 city/32 hwy (CVT)

2007 BMW 328i

What we think:

The BMW has become something of a benchmark in the segment. With one of the best transmission and engine set-ups on the road, the 328i is a delight to drive.

At a glance:

2007 BMW 328i

Price: $ 32,400

Engine and drivetrain: 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, 230 horsepower, 200 lb-ft torque; 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic; rear-wheel drive.

MPG: 20 city/30 hwy (manual), 21 city/30 hwy (automatic)

2008 Cadillac CTS

What we think:

Cadillac is set to come to market with an all-new CTS sometime this fall, and, from the pictures and specs we have seen, it looks to build upon its successful predecessor with more style, performance and panache.

At a glance:

2008 Cadillac CTS

Price: N/A

Engine and drivetrain: 3.6-liter V6 engine, 210 horsepower, 194 lb-ft torque; 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic; rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

MPG: TBD

2007 Dodge Charger RT

What we think:

With its All-American looks, bold styling and powerful engine, the Charger RT takes a muscle car approach to the entry-level sedan segment.

At a glance:

2007 Dodge Charger RT

Price: $31,315

Engine and drivetrain: 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine, 335 horsepower, 390 lb-ft torque; 5-speed automatic; rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

MPG: 17 city/25 hwy (RWD), 21 city/30 hwy (AWD)

2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan

What we think:

The G35 Sedan has become a benchmark in the segment with its potent combination of power, finesse and Japanese design. A new G37 coupe launches this fall.

At a glance:

2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan

Price: $31,450

Engine and drivetrain: 3.5-liter V6 engine, 306 horsepower, 268 lb-ft torque; 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual; rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

MPG: 19 city/26 hwy

2007 Lexus IS 250

What we think:

With its powerful engine, tuned suspension and six-speed manual, the Lexus IS 250 leaves little to be desired.

At a glance:

2007 Lexus IS 250

Price: $30,255

Engine and drivetrain: 2.5-liter V6 engine, 204 horsepower, 185 lb-ft torque; 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic; rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

MPG: 20 city/28 hwy (manual), 24 city/32 hwy (automatic)

2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited

What we think:

With standard all-wheel drive, loads of safety features and good looks, the Legacy–Subaru’s flagship–is another good addition to the shopping list.

At a glance:

2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Limited

Price: $ 31,295

Engine and drivetrain: 3.0-liter H6 engine, 245 horsepower, 215 lb-ft torque; 5-speed automatic; all-wheel drive.

MPG: TBD

2008 Volvo S60 2.5T

What We Think:

The mid-range Volvo has everything that is expected from the Swedish nameplate: safety, reliability and a turbocharged engine. Volvo has been pushing the idea of “Scandinavian luxury,” and the S60 is a standout.

At a glance:
2008 Volvo S60 2.5T

Price: $30,885

Engine and drivetrain: 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, 208 horsepower, 236 lb-ft torque; 5-speed automatic transmission; front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

MPG: 22 city/30 hwy (FWD), 18 city/25 hwy (AWD)

CTS with DI, MT, FE3, and RWD.

I've seen a few of them on the roads here and they have quite a presence.

It's an o.k. list.

I would have put the Azera and Avalon in that list...

Huh? Ok, maybe its punchy with the manual. But so few people order it that way. The masses are stuck with a quite "compact" sedan that's a bit short on power.

The 1-series coupe may just do it for me. Otherwise a 328i will do just fine, since no one pays MSRP on a 328i.

I can attest to the A4 being on that list.

Lol IS250, I'm sorry that car is way underpowered no offense intended. I'll take the W204 (C300) or E92 328i ftw.

Reliability questions aside (which would work against the CTS, Charger, and C-Class, I would agree with all of these except maybe the Volvo. I say maybe because while I haven't specifically reviewed or driven the latest S60, in general, I find Volvos to be good safety-machines but otherwise dull, too devoid of personality, too lifeless in the power steering and too harshly sprung......they drive like appliances, if rather firm-riding ones.

Easy. Like I said, no one pays invoice for a 328i.

A 328i sport sedan with comfort access, adaptive bi-xenons, and metallic paint sets you back $34,625 and that includes destination fee, $800 profit for the dealer (it's really $33,825). Anything else you really need?

Doing ED is even cheaper. Almost $3k cheaper.
