Anyway, it's done well and Explorer sales have gone down mainly because of fuel economy. The Explorer is big and heavy and can tow a lot, but like a Range Rover's off road capability, it's not that important to most people.

Besides, the thread headline comparing CR-V sales to Explorer is pretty irrelevant today, as Ford has Edge and Escape CUV sales also so they've fragmented their own sales even. I think the Edge is pretty sharp, and it's selling quite well.
Yes sir, we both agree the market now has tons of SUVs, Ford now has tons of brother SUVs to the Explorer, where before they did not.

Personally I could not be caught beaten, dragged and held against my will in the new CR-V. Just end my existence. Just looking at it makes me not want to go to Hooters for dinner tomorrow and just drink some water and eat some lettuce.
I think the Explorer is superior on paper (I am sure the CR-V ride is better) period. Its not even a debate which one is better.

I agree with you. To me the CRV seems to be a mix of the last generation and the rear end of the generation previous to that. Unlike the RAV4, having been in a few of these new CRVs it evokes memories of rolling in my friends' Volvo 240s back in high school and then having my friends trying to hit on some ladies. Eerie experience I don't want to repeat.

Badge it a Ford or GM, it would be discontinued b/c of slow sales. B/C its a Honda, people actually buy them.

Its a great vehicle, wrapped in one of the worst exterior designs of recent memory. Chris Bangle even laughs at it
As far as 'badging it GM", though it is no beauty, is it worse-looking than the Pontiac Aztek? I think not.

You would love to be beaten, dragged, held against your will and a lot else in a new CR-V if it were by the waitresses of the Hooters.
