Hey guys my close friend wants to get the new G37 coupe. Ive done some research on the car and it seems like a good car. It has 330hp with 270 torque with the new 3.7 liter v6 engine.
What do u guys feel about this car? Any insight? or perhaps other suggestions on something in the same price range?
I'll let you read the article to determine which one comes out ahead. It's always good to have a nice comparison.
One thing that really troubles me regarding the BMW 335 is an "unnerving oil-temperature issue", and this same problem has happened on several occassions by different magazine/car reviewers, so it is not an isolated incident.
I recommend that your friend test drive some similar competitors, including the Lexus IS350, BMW 335, and Mercedes C350, just to name a few. The G37 may be the bargain of the bunch though with it's pricing, but you really need to test drive different models to see which one best suits your needs.

If your friend wants a G37 Coupe tell him to buy it. The G35 Coupe was a great car so the new G37 just builds on that. Other choices, although potentuially more expensive that I would also consider are the BMW 335i Coupe, and the new Audi A5/S5 Coupe. If I were in the Coupe market right now those would be the 3 cars I'd be looking at.
Outside of the styling which some think is hit or miss and a slight lack of image, the car is IMO going to be perfect for damn near anyone. The car has no glaring faults and excels in a quite a few metrics.
To me, this entire class of cars is great, let the magazines pick a winner b/c they HAVE to. There are no losers in this class.
Thanks for all the input guys, my friend put a deposit to guarantee him one of the first ones in socal. He wants a fully loaded black on black, premium sports package with Nav. Will post pics and vids of him racing my es3 =} as soon as he gets the g37.
I NEVER liked the G35 and NEVER will like the G37. Theres just something about it.
+1. I remember we test drove the G35 when it came out a couple years ago. It was a matter of curiosity, since all the magazines were raving about it and comparing it to the 3 (which I knew was very good). The engine was too coarse, the interior wasn't great, the ride too soft (due to non-sport though, so I'm not faulting them), and the Bose stereo sucked, just like every other "Bose" car audio. Plus it was pretty thirsty on fuel too. After the test drive, I understood why the 3 has been and remains the benchmark. But it is a great car, and everyone's looking for something different.
