Lexus is ready for the battle !
The SC 300/400 are truly the exception that proves the rule in Lexus' lineup, namely that the next generation flows directly from the first. From the ES/IS/GS/LS and also RX/LX, the following generation has largely built upon and improved on the original, with the same mission profile.
However, the SC 430 was a much more radical redefinition that was not a true successor to the SC 300/400, it was a different vehicle...a very nice convertible hardtop, but more of a 2-seater than the SC 300/400 was, and actually shorter, different stance, different target market etc. So in that sense, the SC 300/400 body style has been discontinued for Lexus...there is no longer a regular, non-convertible, long V6/V8 coupe in the Lexus lineup.
ALMS is not the same as the 24 hr of LeMans.
I would like to see the LF-A at Lemans tho..that would be pretty cool.
I think also that if they build and IS hardtop CC there is no need for a soft top convertible or a reuglar coupe. Have the regular IS in CC form and the IS-F in coupe form.

If Lexus wanted to they could take over the world by storm but they are way too humble and conservative to do that. I can't wait for the LF-A, IS-F, IS coupe convertible, GS-F, RX-F and anything else Lexus puts out. Throughout Lexus history the only model that was discontinued was the good 'ol SC 300. Let's see what Lexus does next...
