Default Lexus GS-F (speculation)

The first in the new Lexus F brand was the Lexus IS-F that many expected to be a competitor to the BMW M3, but the end results was quite different. Even though blessed with hardcore, perhaps even borderlining on ricey looks, what the car was made of was suited more to a fast luxury cruiser instead of a track monster.

The next car in the Lexus F line-up will be the Lexus GS-F (artist’s impression above by Theophilus Chin), supposed to be aimed square at the BMW M5. The GS-F will most likely be powered by the V10 that’s supposed to be slotted into the Lexus LF-H supercar, making over 500 horsepower.

Since Lexus also seems to love one-upping it’s competitors on numbers, perhaps a tweaked up and modernized version of the 1GZ-FE (1GZ-DE?) will be offered. The 1GZ-FE was a 5.0 liter V12 offered in Toyota luxury cars like the Toyota Century.

While power figures on paper might defeat the M5, but that’s not all it takes to win the hearts of enthusiasts.

Not a good PS (it was posted in the 3GS forum couple days ago too). Personally, I don't think there will be a GS-F until the 4GS comes out.

Ha that photoshop is ridiculous. They took the IS-F aero elements and slapped them on a 3GS body.

isnt there some frame flex issues with 3GS?
like robarapta said, i think it is best for lexus to attack the M5 when they bring out a 4GS when handling has been refined to be more like BMW
but then i also dont want lexus to lose the comfort and luxuriousness

Ridiculous photochop indeed. Seeing as the GS was the first of the "L-Finesse" car and that Lexus is hard at work on the next-gen GS, it's quite possible Lexus will wait until MY 2010 or 2011 for the GS-F to come out. Lexus could really come out with a bang with the next-gen GS if they release the GS-F alongside of it.

That article is stupid; the IS-F hasn't even come out yet. We don't know what kind of impact its going to make at all; what its handling dynamics will be; or how much power it will make.

It looks to me the only thing they changed from a GS was that they added the aero kit from the IS-F on (front bumper and brake vents).
