Well, bit, if you like this car, start saving your money (LOTS of it). You're a Ford/Mazda man now, and Jag is part of that corporate family.

I go to a upscale hand carwash about once a month - probably as much to see the impromptu car show as to clean my car. There is usually a wide selection of MB's, Lexus, and an occasional Lamborghini or Ferrari. Last week I saw a car I'd actually love to own; a new Jaguar XKS coupe. This black-on-black cat was possibly the most beautiful car I've seen in years - second only perhaps to its cousin, the Aston Martin DB9 that occupies the far-out-of-reach automotive stratosphere. The XK is pricey, but attainable without mortgaging one's soul. Maybe.

Anybody who wants one of these only has to wait a year or two. Jaguar's resale value is horrendous. 2-3 years from new you can probably get a low mileage one for the price of an ES350

Yes, that's a good point. And by then, some of the defects that new Jags are notorious for will have been repaired.

I really like the new XK, especially the coupe.

It's added plus if you have a coupe too, since it seems like 80% of these cars are the convertibles.

Absolutely gorgeous car in the pics - no doubt about that!

Saw one in person about a month ago (downtown Toronto) and the front didn't do anything for me. At first I didn't recognize the car and looked at it some more while it slowly went past, then realized what car it was.

Looks fantastic from the side and back, but the front just doesn't do it for me. I cannot describe why I don't like the front - perhaps it reminds of some other car that I don't like - dunno can't place my finger on it......

I share the same sentiments, it's the shape of the headlights & the catfish/whale shark like grille I guess ...

Yes, the front styling is the weakest point and looks a bit like that Hyundai coupe.
