Default Help me choose car under $40K

Yes, I already put down a deposit on the IS-F but it is so far away and expected pricing to be near $60K range may make me shy away. We'll see when I drive it.

I'm looking for performance, realiability, and luxury. 2 or 4 doors is fine too since i kids. I am not going to be in a rush. Was looking for NSX's or supras but none with fair mileage or condition.

Thoughts and input very much appreaciated.

thanks

Have you considered a regular IS350, TL or G35? Or good old GS430, which can be bought at bargain price?

Would you consider an IS 250 or 350?

If not, I recommend the Nissan 350Z, since you seem to be looking for something sporty.

But if you need that touch of luxury, maybe you can go for the Infiniti G.

You can't find a NSX with fair mileage and condition for $40K? At that price you can find a lot of nice NSXs, unless you have a particular late model in mind. Supra TT, well, a lot of them will already be heavily modified. Since you mentioned NSX, I'd still look for either an NSX, or E46 M3, or E39 M5/540i. All cold be had for $40K or less.

Under 40k, I'd go with a G35 Sedan or a G37 Coupe.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the only one's mentioned that caught my eye was the red NSX(9but too far away) and the M5(but have heard horror stories about sludge). Or should I look for a Certified on in case I get the bad luck?

ANything else??
What about 01' S55 AMG??

How about an Audi?

I was gonna suggest a 2007 S8 with the Lamborghini engine but its a bit pricey.

I'd stay away from any used AMG.
But I'd go with 02 or 03 M5.

I have 2 friends that just bought completly stock Supra TT's. One paid $28k with 58k miles for a '96 and the other paid $18k for a '93.5 with 70k miles on it. they are both 6spd and targa tops. If you look hard enough you can find them stock.
Don't be afriad of a higher milage NSX, its a Honda after all, they last for a while as long as they are kept up. You throw a nice set of twin turbos or a S/C on it and be very happy.
Used 911?
E46 M3 vert with a set of Active Auto Work twin turbos on it?
Lots of options man.

Paying $28k for an 11 year old Supra is insane. It was a nice car, but not THAT nice

New AMG's are worse than used ones....they haven't had the defects in them repaired yet like used ones have.
