The Hyundai Entourage/Kia Sedona twins ( see my Entourage review ), in some ways, offer more for less money, and have a far better warranty, than either the Sienna or Odyssey, though their powertrain and road manners are not quite as efficient or refined.
I'm not saying necessarily buy one, but at least go check them out before you plunk down the extra cash for an Odyssey or Sienna. I think you will be impressed at the quality and fit-and-finish they offer for the money.

Oh and my 110 lb yellow lab was in the back sitting on the 2nd row seats, he landed up front. He was completly fine, just won't ever get in the car with my mom again.

What was she driving??? A 2005 Toyota Sienna. If the safety of you and your family are important. This is a no brainer on which to pick.

Oh and the armored truck had a slight dent on it. My mom said the guys in the truck came jumping out the back with shotguns, thinking they were getting robbed.
The NHTSA has the following Frontal Star Ratings
Honda Odyssey 5
Toyota Sienna 4

I think your Mom should get an Odyssey - betcha the dog would start driving with her again.

No, not quite a no-brainer. Minivans in general, not just the Sienna, offer good crash protection, because of their generally large size, plenty of exterior sheet metal, multiple air bags, and lots of crush space up front. You don't necessarily have to buy a Sienna to get good minivan protection in a crash. This is one reason ( among several ) why insurance for minivans is generally low.

Sienna looks good slammed also.

This a chop, don't mind the wheels, it was a quick chop. Sorry for the large picture.

I'm going along a similar route, got the 07 quest and I'm having a tough time deciding on wheels.
