FEBRUARY 2007 CAR SALES Thread
As for the IS, it is the "oldest" of the three. Sales of the new G35 sedan (with coupe sales added to those numbers, and possibly incentives to buy the old '06 models for significantly less than the IS) and the new 3-Series Coupe (the 3-Series numbers are always WAY ahead of the IS numbers anyways) are nothing suprising. It is well expected from the two main competitors...
Yeah. The GS needs to be "reengineered" to be more performance oriented. We have yet to see the GS460, and how that will be modified to handle the extra 100 horses. So beyond the engine, we should also see changes in handling, suspension, and braking.

Amazing how Corolla sales just keep climbing as the car gets older. It's now in it's 5th year (mostly unchanged since 2003) and it is the 3rd best selling car after Camry and Accord.
Civic sales shouldn't be dropping like they are however it is just February so we should wait. It's a great small car and is one of the freshest looking models out. For me, it's between that and the Mazda 3 if I was ready to purchase in that class.

350. I see the IS often but don't recall seeing a 350, ever. Funny how people always complain when a powerful option isn't offered but then when it is, it doesn't sell. Base engines almost always outsell the larger option by a landslide.
Same thing goes for a manual transmission option. People always complain that some cars (or all Lexus cars) don't come with a real manual. Look at all US vehicle sales and automatics are chosen 90 something percent of the time.
They never broke down the sales #'s in the tables, but from what I can recall, during the first couple of months the 2IS were launched, I think they did announced how many IS250's & IS350's were sold in their press release. At least initially, they sold a significantly higher % of total in IS350's than their announced projections before the new model was launched.
LOL, I'm exactly the opposite - I used to own a 5th gen, and loved it to death. I still love 5th and 6th gens, but 7th gen was just blah, and the 8th gen is a ridiculous blah.
I don't know the numbers but the IS250 seems to sell WAY more that the

...............The GS needs HELP NOW, the new V8 will not be enough IMO.
