Parking brake: How often do you use it?
How often do you use the parking brake? I always engage the parking brake whenever I park, it's become a habit for me.

My driveway has a slight incline and I use it every day when I park the car there. It makes it easier to shift from Park to reverse with the E-brake engaged. When I don't use it, the car will rock back slightly after shifting to park - this makes it a bit tougher (not impossible) to shift out of park into reverse.
I also remember reading somewhere that using the e-brake puts less strain on the trans when/if the car has to roll back after engaging park. I have 130k miles on the car and I'll do anything I can to ensure the trans will last a long time.
That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Parking brake repair is cheaper than a tranny. Use it to hold the car when parked.

Only on hills!
I know it is a bad hobbie of mine, but I don't see the point of using it on flat surface.

It seems everyone with stickshift uses it, but with my RX300 or somebody else's automatic I only use it on hills.

Always, even with the automatic, it's better for the transmission.
