What's even worse than this are people who smoke while pumping their own gas. I've seen it 4 or 5 times in the last few years. One time I even started an arguement with an older lady who didn't like it when I told her to put her cigarette off while filling up her car. If she wants to blow her self up she can do it without me being there.

Pumping gas with the engine on is probably as dumb as driving without buckling up. I don't like the govt telling me what to do but not wearing a seatbelt or gassing up with the engine running are paths to Darwin awards.

I can't believe this is actually a poll.

Why would anyone leave their car running when filling with gas?

On top of being just plain dumb, it's also a ticketable offense. It says so right on the pump stations. But, yet... it still happens. Whatever...

Off. Can't imagine being so retarded as to burn up the resource you're paying to buy at the exact same time.

And the poll options - how could one 'honestly not know' if their car is on or off???!!!

Default Just Think About It!!!

The poll is biased to YES for a reason. Not only is it common sense. Its so easy to do. Why not? The least that would happen is you get a check engine light to come on and the techs in the service dept. will think, "NO NOT ANOTHER IDIOT" But.....think about the absolute worst that can happen........
PLEASE TURN OFF WHEN REFUELING!!!

If you see someone filling up, smoking, and/or with the engine on, would it be illegal to spray gasoline onto their feet?

I mean, you're not supposed to be smoking and/or have your engine on at the pump right?

LOL

I believe in IL it's a fine if you leave your engine running while pumping gas, and cops sit in gas stations around here
