dealers who stick their names on the car
#46
I've noticed lately a lot of car dealerships stick their names somewhere on the back of every car they sell. For example, Nalley Lexus in Atlanta puts "Nalley" right above the "Lexus" sign (in the same size font).
Anyone else find this really annoying? It's cool when they just put a license plate frame, because that is easily removed. But I'm not sure those dealer signs can be easily taken off.
Anyone here ever told a dealer not to put their name on the car? Do they listen?

Most of the dealer stickers are applied by clueless salesman who stick them on cars that have sat outside and been rained on several times, the stickers for the most part come off without trying

One of my biggest pet peeves. How dare they molest the body of the car and make the driver advertise for them. Thank goodness this practice has died on the West Coast. Only Lexus of Glendale does this and for that reason alone I have never set foot in that place. To take one of the nicest collection of cars and ruin them is a travesty.

When did they start doing this? I bought my IS250 in 2006 from them and they only had the license plate holders. no stickers ( i would have asked them to remove it if there were any).

It's more than a sticker, it's an actual emblem. Every 2IS I've seen from them has had one. Maybe you got lucky.

I remember there was the Potamkin dealerships here in Miami, and when I was a kid the names on the back of the vehicle were so large they almost dwarfed the name of the manufacturer. In fact, some kids used to think that Potamkin was a company that actually made cars.

I have purchased a half dozen cars/trucks that came with stickers on the rear, indicating where they were purchased from. The VERY first thing I do when I get home is throw their license plate frame in the trash and peel their stickers off of my car. No reason to advertise for them, not to mention it detracts from your car.

JM Lexus actually has a nice license plate frame, so I was rocking it until I found a suitable replacement. On other cars, I've owned, I had the dealership remove and decals, front plates, etc, during the PDI.
Unless they want to pay me an advertising fee!!!

No big deal for me, as long as it's all gone when I take the car. No labels, no glue residue. Number plate frames are OK as I can switch those out at will if I ever find them too obnoxious.

I don't mind plate frames, just as long as they have the make of car, for example, "Lexus of ___ " on them.
