I think domestic vans all have the same look these days. That ugly high boxy nose that is basically stitched to bodystyles that date back to the mid 90's. If you chop off the nose of the Chevy Uplander, it's basically the Chevy Venture, whom it replaced. Same with the Ford Freestar and Windstar vans. It's to the point where the door panals may even be interchangable in terms of shape and fitment.
At least the Toyota, Honda and Nissan vans are more distinguishable. Those vans actually attempt to put a bit of style into minivans. And when they redesign their vans, they actually redesign them and not stitch together a bunch of outdated designs together. I think the domestics are staying conservative, and falling behind. Although of course it's not all about style.
Remember when Dodge dominated the minivan market? Heck, they dominated the whole market before SUV's were hot. It seems like a LOOOONG time ago. And I don't think this will take them back to that period. Although I will hold back a little until I see the interior.
they were dominating because they were the only minivan around at the time--honda had the 1st gen odyssey (accord wagon really)--toyota introduced the previa and that did give mopar a little competition...but witht he introduction of the sienna/odyssey--it put mopar on hold, really making the vans rentals as most other American vehicles!
