Interesting... so random house unabridged dictionary recognizes the term as a technical alternative to "gauge" when referring to comparing two objects or a distance or something like that.
Merriam Webster and a couple others I checked didn't mention that.

There are too many sources quoted by dictionary.com that I had to omit most, but that doesn't mean Merriam Webster doesn't have it.

Also Chevy/GMC (on those vehicles that offer nav--I know 'cuz my '04 Denali has factory touchscreen nav, although if you wanted to nitpick...GM didn't introduce factory touchscreen nav option in Escalade/Denali until '05 model year); Lexus may or may not have been one of the first, but they are clearly not the only one by any stretch. Methinks the title of this thread should be changed just a wee bit...
