The Ka is durable because its components have been "tried and tested" for about 30 years now Talk about "stoneage-technology" The 1,2 engine we get in the Ka overe here is basicly the same engine that was introduced in the ford fiesta in 1976!

The Mondeo is the car James Bond was driving in Casino Royale, the one he was driving around in the Caribbean

The only question is, why couldn't they have done this 5 years ago? Mexico gets them but US and Canada don't?!? Am I the only one that sees something wrong with that?

Where you live in Norway, with very expensive gas, high vehicle taxes, and relatively uncongested roads outside of a few major cities like Oslo, a very small car like the Ka with a 1.2L makes sense. Here in the U.S. though, with relatively cheap, by your standards ( $2.00-$2.50 ) gas, big heavy 18-wheel trucks over the place, and drivers who want to run right up your rear bumper the instant the light turns green, it is quite another matter. Even the Daewoo-built Chevy Aveo, which is a little larger than the Ka, can sometimes be hazardous in our conditions. I myself have some misgivings on how the Smart cars will do here whan they arrive....they are even smaller than the Ka, and are likely, despite Mercedes safety technology, to be rolling coffins.

Yepp, youre right Ive actually driven a few Smarts...and you dont feel all that big driving it around in traficc among other "larger cars"

Btw...mostly because if the economic upturn we've had since the early 70's(you know...we found oil ) the carpark in norway is getting bigger by the minute...so large suvs/mpvs etc. are taking over here aswell...
