Achtung, heiss! The H&R Springs Hohenester HS650 is a mega-tuned Audi A4 that can hit 214 mph.


Hohenester HS650 Nardo (yes, that stands for the 650 hp it makes) will be on the stand at Europe's tuning fan's paradise, the Essen Motor Show.

ESSEN, Germany — German suspension specialist H&R Springs is hosting a special guest on its stand at the annual fall show here: the Hohenester HS650 Nardo.

The Gaimersheim-based tuning house works on various Volkswagen Group marques but has a special affinity for Audis. It shows in the HS650 Nardo, which is being billed as the world's fastest A4. (Of course, it's fitted with H&R coil-over shocks.)

Alfons Hohenester has blowtorched the 3.0-liter V6 with the addition of twin turbochargers, jacking output to 650 horsepower and torque to 531 pound-feet. The HS650 Nardo bursts from zero to 60 mph in less than 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 214 mph.

What this means to you: Even more potent German hardware is yet to come from the Essen show.
