I'm kind of surprised the ES350 tops its class despite all the transmission issues we've been hearing about at CL. I can only guess that all the other cars have worse issues.

MB is again at the bottom of luxury cars, along with the 7-series. What's new anyway?

Consumer Reports seems like they really heart hybrids.

Lots of Mercedes on the wrong side of the scale, doesn't surprise me at all, mine was a joke.

I guess that is what kept the Camry off the list ...?

I am wondering what's the age of the cars they surveyed for this list, it can't be about long term reliability, since the ES350 is out for only a few months.

I didn't know CR has a initial quality survey(first 90 days like JDPower) ? Or is it just a mistake that they listed the ES350 ? If it's the ES300/330, then there's no surprise the ES is the most reliable in it's class.

*Predicted reliability based on only one model year.

Which also leads me to believe that they meant the ES 330 since the ES350 does not have an * like the other new cars.

No suprises there. SC up top again.

I do disagree with the Ford Fusion. Perhaps it's just my example as it is a typical Ford. Mine has been nothing but problems. 2006, in the shop 7 times, needs to go back again for the A/C compressor ,suspension clunks, and charging issues. Prior issues, transmission, bumpers loose, A/C system leaked, radio, door speakers, software update, interior door handle, and some other items I cannot think of right now. I picked it up in Oct 06.

I'm not too surprised that Toyota/Honda tops the list...i'm also not too surprised that MBZ and BMW is on the other side of it.

No surprises, which is good for the winners and bad for the losers...

people overreact at falling quality and forget that other cars in the same class have a hell of a lot more problems

Talking Consumer Reports latest Reliability Rankings

Five Lexus models (LS, LX, SC, ES, and RX) were named in the top of their class in terms of reliability based on Consumer Reports latest rankings.

Among the cars listed as "Worst Reliability" included:
-BMW X5
-BMW 7-Series
-Mercedes M, R, and E Classes
-'06 Mercedes S-Class
-Mercedes SL, SLK, CLK, and CLS

IMO if I owned a Mercedes Benz, especially if it is listed above, I would feel royally ripped off.

Lexus has shown that it continues to lead the way in Reliability.

yikes... look at those MB's and BMW's, looking at some posts on these forums, I would think they have less problems than Lexus... all lies I say!!! :-)
