I like the fact that the LS is getting all this attention but I wish it was for
all its other advanced attributes. To much is on the parking guidence system and so much other stuff is being ignored. The LS has many "firsts" and should all be hyped. This is like the 50th video.

 

^^ True. They sure are milking it in all of the commercials too. I watching Heroes and MNF last night and every commercial break was either the one with the wine glasses, or people talking and the car parking itself.

 

The autopark is one of the new features I have the least interest in for the LS460 ...

 

Are these commercials online anywhere? I actually haven't seen them because I don't ever watch TV. I'd like to see them.

 

That's the way it usually goes, unfortunately. They pick the one item with the greatest "shock and awe" factor, and run with it.

I, for one, loathe any feature on a car whose sole intent is to try and do the thinking for me. Mostly because it's "thinks" wrong most of the time. I'm driving the car, not the other way around.

 

and they awarded them the "breakthrough" award or something..... wth.... something that's been in japan for yrs?

 

How about stuff like this...

-a 19 speaker Mark Levinson sound system (most speakers of any car).
-30 GB harddrive (most of any car)
- reclining rear seat with ottoman (a first in a mass production car)
- large auto flip down screen [world first (like this)]
- infered sensors to monitor body temp (world first)
- 8 speed tansmission (most of any car)
- camera's to detect driver's reaction and activate safety features accordingly (world first)
- Available hybrid mated to an 8-cylinder (world first)

So big deal, it parks itself.

Agreed, they could run a whole series of commercials...I do think that they have one ad with the 8-speed transmission, that's the only one I haven't seen of the 3 (the other 2 are the APGS).

 

i don't think they will do commercials on all, that will actually be too "spread out" for the marketing scheme to impress people i think

oh well, sometimes it's more about people finding out what's good about the cars anyway
