I wonder if the people who make the Nissan Altima SE-R rims are the same ones for the Type S.

Another FWD V-6 with quad pipes. First the Maxima, now this. Uneccessary and out of place. The angular pipes look tons better.

TL-S dark rims look like crap.

Overall the car looks too busy and awkward to me.

Awesome interior though.

But I think there's better way to spend the same money.

if so then it's really sad, that means all acuras are selling bad. the tl can be had for what? 33k? i think 36k should be the bottom of the tl-s, otherwise the whole pricing structure doesn't work. the RL for 42k, that's a joke already imho

i like the quad pipes. after all it's some kind of cosmetic stuff anyway. most of the chances on the car i like them. except the seats, they look pretty weird

39k for a type s is not bad since TLs come fully equipped. A similarly equipped IS350 would be around 42-43k.

well but given the price difference between the two, personally i see much less reasons to get the tl-s. i wonder how fast that car can do. maybe mid 5?

Look at the features the IS350 has that the acura doesnt. Keyless access and start. More seat adjustments a more advanced engine, nicer stereo performance brake pads adaptive lights hid on the low and high beams. The IS350 trumps the acura on performance and luxury equipment and it already scored much higher than the TL in the car and driver comparo and that IS350 was a prototype.

I can see how someone would buy a TL-S over an IS350 due to:

1) More room (i.e., useful back seat)
2) Better performance in snow
3) Cheaper similarly equipped

However, I don't see a lot of compelling reasons to get a TL-S over a 2007 G35x. The G35x will probably have better performance, similar room, better performance in snow, and maybe a couple thousand more expensive.

At that point then, why even call it a Type S? Look at the reasons your saying to buy it. Space? Hell get a TOwn Car. Snow performance? No such thing, your supposed to drive SAFE in the snow. GEt a AWD car. Cheaper, that is Acura's specialty and I can understand that reason.

At this point, I can see people buying it over the ES 350 b/c they want a sportier look. Over the IS350? It must be for non performance based reasons.

I see what you're saying. I'm just saying, if someone has narrowed their car choices to just two cars, the IS350 and the TL-S, why they might choose the TL-S over the IS350. The TL-S does have much more room than the IS350, and FWD is generally easier to drive in snow than RWD. Those ARE non-performance based reasons.

By snow "performance" I don't mean performance as in pushing the car, but just general driveability.

I'm not saying the TL is more of anything than the IS350. Im just saying that things like the HID, ML, sport suspension and other luxuries need to be added on separately or as packages on top of the 36k base price. The reason someone would buy the TL is because of the value. 39k for everything standard. Its even better if that price includes Nav.
