We said turn signals Obi-Wan . You are correct, the previous TL had no fogs, the new one does and chrome strips in teh grill
the current one HAS fogs, but it's just in the headlight housing together i believe. definitely a good thing they put separate fogs. i guess they are listening to people
same with the mirror turn signal. people bash accura bad for putting it on the tsx and now the tl (i cant' understand why as well)
and the steering wheel is definitely an improvement too!
No they finally got rid of the family car 4 spoke wheel and got a sport sedan 3 spoke one. Side markers were coming, TSX and I think RL have them.
I think they did a good job making minimal changes, its a good design. I wonder if the rear got Altezzas though?
I agree, it I think the suttle midlife upgrades are good. Nothing too dramatic but enough to spring new life into the line until the next gen is released. I like the 3 spoke steering wheel and I like the new dash layout. I wish the navigation was higher though right below the information screen and move the vents below the nav. Other than that though very few cars are layed out the way I would do it The gunmetal rims have to go though. A nice set of polished aluminum rims would compliment the car much better. Good thing the aftermarket can take care of that.
The side mirrors are different. The layout of the headlight is different, looks like a total redo (probably due to new independant foglights). Gauge clusters seem to have an orange hue, vice the bubble gum blue (cannot tell for sure). Rims look nasty, I would stick w/A-Spec over what they have now. One more thing, it looks like that blue color is new as well.
the steering wheel looks like somthing porsche would produce, it to me resembles the porsche SUV (cant spell it correctly) but i always liked the TL, especially with it has the kit and all on it, thats one badass car!
The TL, in both forms, is meant to compete with the BMW 3 series, Infiniti G35 cars, Mercedes C class, and Lexus ES330. In both performance and interior luxury it achieves that goal.
I wouldn't doubt Acura had tried 300hp on the TL already, but they probably ran into even more torque steer. SH-AWD shall fix that, in 10 years when Honda decides they want to man up

next gen TL will probably have SH-AWD standard or at least offered

in 07 3 out of 5 models will have SH-AWD, RL MDX, RDX, only models left are the TL and TSX which are going to get redesigned in a few years
I really like this compared to the regular TL. I just wish they did something about that handle line thingy with the side markers. Looks tacky with both the signal mirrors and the side markers (which I hate because it's not a signal).

SHAWD would have been nice but I guess it was not practical this time ... I am sure it will surface in 2009.

Unfortunately that would eat into the RL sales which are already hurting.
Bit... as to it competing with those cars, I think it will. The fact is there are still those out there who live in snowy climates and don't want to be changing tires twice a year, this might just be the car for them as
1) Lexus has no equavalent in AWD
2) BMW's equavalent is the 330xi and that is $5K more
3) Infiniti did not have an interior to keep up (the new one looks much better however)
Just my 2 cents - personally I see it as a nice extension to the line but unfortunately as pointed out, it will have serious torque steer, even though the 2006s had less than the 2005s per Acura.
