No. The cops drive them because they LOVE them. They have a durable, full-length ladder-frame that will take punishment ( like high-speed chases over curbs ), plenty of room in back to carry dogs, prisoners, and equipment , and ( though some have had fuel-tank-impact problems ) generally plenty of sheet metal to protect in an accident. GM and Chrysler have both tried to market unibody V6 police vehicles many times.........nobody wants them.
