Default Have to Vent

I'm not sure if I posted a thread about someone keying my RX300, but they did. I already put touch up paint on it so it won't rust. But, anyhow, here's my vent:

I got a check from the insurance for the vandalism (I DID write one about how I wanted to make sure my insurance won't go up thread) and I went to a bodyshop my friend referred me to. He works in a bodyshop as well, but he doesn't recommend me go to them because he said the painters get jealous of each others work and tamper the others worksmanship. He referred me to a bodyshop that does good work. Here's how it goes:

I drop by the place early in the morning last week, and they said they won't give me an estimate without an appointment. I left and called to make an appointment. Here's how the conversation goes:
Me: Hi, I like to make an appointment for an estimate.
Them: Sure, when's a good time for you to drop by?
Me: Well, I did drop by about an hour ago but you told me to make an appointment so when is a good time for you guys?
Them: Anytime.
Me: How about next week?
Them: Sure, Anytime...
Me: How about Monday morning at 7:30AM?
Them: Can't
Me: How about Tuesday?
Them: Can't
Me: How about YOU give me a day?
Them: A week later would be best.
Me: How about Tuesday a week later?
Them: Sure.

So I drop by this morning and as I pulled in, they said they're booked, even though I was the only one in the shop at 7:30am. I told him I had an appointment. They couldn't find it but they'll look at it anyways. It's two long scratches on the passenger door and rear passenger door that got keyed. They gave me an estimate and I said sure, but then I told them that I had one special request:

Me: I'm very particular about my car and I want to make sure you guys don't overspray the car because I've seen some cars that had paint on the muffler, gas tank, inner wells, etc. Can you take good care of my car?

Them: Hmm.. I'm here to make a profit and I think I can't provide that service for you. You may take your business elsewhere.

I was in totlal shock. Oh wells... I then took my car up the block that only service exotic cars. I got an estimate and will be bringing it them to paint. My car was the only Lexus in there! There were Porches, Ferrari's, Land Rover, BMW, etc.

Just wanted to vent. Can I write to BBB?

Kick your friend in the ***** for the referral. I dont think you can make any claim to the BBB because there was no transaction.

That's some pretty horrible service right there. . I'd be pretty upset if people treated me like that. I understand that people have bad days, but dont let your bad day ruin my bad day. I guess he had a whole bad week.

By law, your rates CANNOT go up for a comprehensive claim ( vandalism, storm damage, theft, etc...)

And if the shop allows painters to deliberately screw up each other's work....that's on management for not giving those bozos the pink slip they deserve.

on the other hand the guy told you staight up that he cannot provide the kind of service you requesting.
if he said yes but then didnt deliver it would be even bigger pain in da *** for you.
however i would also be mad if i was given such runaround with appointment.

Thanks everyone. It's a sign. I will never go back to them.

Instead, I went with another shop that specializes with exotic cars only, so I was surprised that I was the only Lexus in there.

Much thanks... I just needed to let some steam out.
