I've talked to many insiders and I don't see this happening any time soon. Toyota is doing fine selling cars with their current and future slated lineup.
On the contrary, market research says that Toyota's customers want a naturally aspirated engine. I like the 'tunability' of a turbo car, but my guess is that if a version of the Supra resurfaces the high end version will be around $50-$55K... they won't exactly be targeting first time car buyers or xB customers. A majority of the initial NEW CAR buyers will likely lease the cars and leave them stock (perhaps wheels, tint, exhaust... nothing crazy).

I love the 2J and respect what it's capable of, but the straight 6 is long gone, replaced by lighter, more efficient eco-friendly engines. An aluminum V8 would be awesome... if nothing else, for the sound. And Toyota has shown they can build a terrific V8.

I'd love to see Toyota step back in this market with a V6 and V8 model to scare 350Z and RX-8 owners. The new Supra wouldn't be a huge seller, but it would do wonders for Toyota's image.

Toyota builds great cars... too bad none of the current cars excite me.

V6 and V8 models for going up against 350Z and the GT-R.

They're not going to go turbo. Nowadays they can efficiently use a V8 with good gas consumption and power output. It will be up to the aftermarket.
I saw a article the other night about the GT-R.. It looks badazz... My question is, when is it coming to the states...
