I parked next to a E55 AMG Benz the other night and that car is badass in my opinion. I looked up the specs on it today and I never relized what it was packing. Big tag though $86k

Yeah, the E55 is a beast.

But the new E63...

86k is the starting price... You can easily configure them to be 100k+

They are indeed badass. I personally would take an E55/63 AMG over an M5.

lol, you haven't been hanging around car chat enough then to see us all drool over them! There are several AMG-heads here on the board, myself included. What color was it? I hate tan cars, but even that car looks ok in champaigne gold!

even though their direct competitors i feel that the E55 is more of a autobahn burner; straight line speed cars whilst the M5 is more performance oriented; made for grunt and for the twisties. I'd take both

No I haven't, but I saw a lot of old posts about them. I guess they're talked about frequently. It was a black one and right when I saw the brakes I was like holy crap. So I walked around the back to see what it was and I saw E55 AMG.

Buy both.

There was one I came across in Newport last week. Slammed, kitted with some brutal exhaust note. He got on the gas and it diasppeared.

Somehow I love looking at those huge brakes
As compared to their tamed brothers the regular E, it's a totally different animal.

And when you see a real AMG and know what they represent, you see those idiots with the S500 AMG, those E320 AMG............

E55s are my favorite sedan ever. it use to be the M5, but somehow it doesn't awe me as much. Maybe its because of the E55's raw power

With the CLS available now, there's no way I can take a E55/63 over a CLS55/63.
Particularly with the recent facelift of the E class, I don't like it as much as before.

I know the CLS is not as practical in the back as the E, but if I want spacious back seats, I would go straight to something like the LS460L.

I thought the same with I first saw the CLS, but after the initial "awe factor" wore off, I favored the E class once again.

A co-worker of mine has a silver one. When he starts it up, damnnnnnnnn. The sound reminds me of a 60's musclecar.
