Default D2-AUTOSPORT CL-55 Update: New Wheels

Hey guys, just wanted to share the latest update. The BRABUS wheels were just not up to the task of the NYC streets, and failed at the most in-oppurtuned time! (after we shipped the car to South Beach for Memorial Day!!! lol)

The wheels were cracked and such so we had to get a set of AUTO-COUTURE 3pc Forged wheels on. They are great, and much better suited to weight of the car and the rougher city streets!!

The chrome really brings out the trim on the bumpers, mouldings, window frames, etc and compliments the dark green paint well (IMO)

Wheels are:

AUTO-COUTURE MAGNIFIQUE
3PC, FORGED
20x8.5 fr - 2" lip
20x10 rr - 3" lip
245/35-20
275/35-20

Feel free to email for any inquiries,

sales@d2autosport.com

whoa nice! is that factory green? I've never seen that color before, only silver, black, white on a CL class. I've always been a fan of CL-series because of the long body. The car looks mint

Nice! I would have opted for brushed if it were me...but the chrome looks good against dark-colored paint!

I'm neither a fan of chrome nor forest green ... but you guys make the car look gorgeous anyway.

The CL is very nice, & I haven't seen it in this color before, but I have never been a fan of this wheel.

Love the CL, never seen this green before.
So you're saying that these AC are stronger then the authentic Brabus??? Brabus aren't cheap either.

Wow, I never thought Brabus wheels would crack so easily. I know German and Italian wheels are made soft on purpose to bend incase of high-speed accidents, but cracking... thats ridiculous!

I'm not a fan of forest green.... but dang, props to D2.... you made that thing look amazing!!!! When I have the proper car and proper money one day, you guys are the first I'm gonna come to.

It's also sad to see this car and think about how in another year we're gonna have that uber-ugly new CL we've seen test shots of!!! n

cracking expels more of the impact energy than does bending.

alloys and such "premium" rims can be considered safety items over steel wheels with covers on them, because they crack and expel the energy from the impact instead of bending and routing the energy elsewhere.

and on the car.

i'm a big fan of that dark green on Jags...

not on Mercs.

i do love that car, expecially with the 55 Kompressor engine, but i'm just not really feeling the color/wheel combination.

Yup its a sad thing, but BRABUS wheels are not forged, and are pretty soft. Those BRABUS MONOBLOCK 3's had about 2 cracks in each wheel.

Thanks alot for the comp man, but honestly there is no car or budget constraints we have mods for all budgets. The green is a tricky color, but number one it must be buffed and waxed consistently to maintain a deep shine and then it needs the proper mods.

Love the wheels, just think they would look a bit better in brushed. Overall the CL is sick
