when do manufacturers usually release next year's model?
well im thinking about a new IS
but this point of the year is kind of a dilemma.. i don't want to spend a few weeks car shopping different dealers and then get the car early-mid july and the 07 models come out in a month
when does manufacturers.. especially lexus usually release new models
the wait is so hard
anyone have experience waiting please advise

The majority of new models are released in August-September but some ae released early in the year...sometimes as early as January. It can legally be done that early as long as it is officially the next year's model number.
Occasionally the release a new model will be delayed about six months or so until the spring of the actual model year, for various reasons....years ago they used to call these half-year models, like the 1970 1/2 Camaro and Firebird....they generally don't anymore.
So there is no real hard and fast rule for this...it depends on number of marketing factors.
Usually the first public viewing of a new vehicle is at the Detroit North American International Auto Show in early January before it is released in the fall...or for the next year, though some introductions are at other shows like Los Angeles, New York, or on rare occasions, here in DC at the Washington Auto Show. ( The Detroit show, IMO, is an overhyped and overrated circus that dates back to the days when Detroit really WAS the center of the auto industry...that's how it got its popularity. There is no real need to have the largest auto show in Detroit any more...yet it persists in spite of the fact that Los Angeles and the D.C area both sell far more new cars than the Detroit area )
