Any SUV that resembles the G-Wagon is fine with me
Yeah, I thought G-Wagen when I first saw it. Actually looks a litte better than the G. I'm not a truck person but it looks alright to me. Not feeling your choice of wheel design but if you like it, we're with you.
Looks pretty good ivxx It's in no way or form hideous like an aztek.
Domestics did come a loooong way in the design dept. Just hope you didn't pay too much for it. That wood dash kit is almost like the 01-03 LS with the ecru???
I have to agree about slapping on big wheels and such skinny tires-you're a brave man Makes me nervous though. I've seen people slapping skinny rim packages made for cars on their old honkin huge suburbans/suvs and thinking they're cool
Ya I know what you guys mean about the wheels, first I swore on the phone I said 40 not 35, and then when they showed up I was like "ya well maybe it won't be so bad" but then the streched a little bit and got even shorter!! Honestly I might be dumping them to someone on the commander forum and going with a 265/40/22 and a diffrent style wheel. The problem is there are sooooooooo few wheel choices out there for the commander.
As for the price, they were trying to move the hemi's and clear out some 4.7's so I got $1,500 in incentives, $2,000 cause it was the interior color I wanted, then another $3,500 thru negiotiations. "I don't know, driving a lexus for so many years many years I don't know if I can make the switch" so $36 sticker became $29 and I was like lets do it!
Don't car for the rims...doesn't look right. Also the dash kit would look better with a black interior...not feeling it with the tan...otherwise, how does it drive?
It looks like a cross between a Hummer and LandRover Discovery with those wheels on it. Not bad at all. Doesn't the Commander share the same platform as the new Benz G class SUV?

I just did a review of a new Commander two days ago. ( not related to IVXX's thread here ). This will answer part of that question....not all of it. I was very impressed with the vehicle ( a lot more than I usually am with a Jeep-brand product ) .........but not everyone agrees with me. However, IMO, IVXX has spent his money wisely, although, of course, this is a brand-new vehicle on the market and has not proven its long-term reliability yet......and the Grand Cherokee that served as this vehicle's roots was quite troublesome.

Bling on a Jeep? I know the Commander is garbage for off roading, but come one! That's sacriledge.
The Commander offers ( in option packages ) the same skid-plate, low-range gears, off-road, and towing features that other Jeeps do...except that, of course, the wheelbase is longer. But it sits up high enough that in spite of the long wheelbase ( which partly explains its smooth ride ), its approach, departure, and breakover angles are still pretty good, although of course not comparable to a Wrangler.
