Have you driven the AWD Five Hundred? I have, and I think that CVT is horrible.

But I agree with your general impression of the Five Hundred/Montego and think as you do that they are quite a step in the right direction for Ford. Once they replace the current 3.0 liter with the new 3.5 liter in 2007/2008 it'll be a very competitive car.

Ok, I remember reading that review now. I still think the CVT isn't a good match for the 3.0 liter. I've driven both 6 speed and CVT Limited models and prefer the traditional transmission hands-down.

Fortunately, our family have only owned 2 domestics in our lifetime-a 79 chevette and an 83? buick skylark

Sedan: 300C SRT-8/Caddy sts-V
SUV: Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8/Navigator
Sports: Saturn Sky/C6
Impossible to afford: Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
I would've chosen Z06 for sports but it was eliminated by the thread starter
I do think all my choises are the best bang for ur bucks....... well, besides the Saleen S7 which cost more than my house.

I do drive american I got a Jeep Commander and I love it!

Now if I had to pick something else... new STS for sure!
