Which really makes sense. It is absurd for companies and car journalists to be playing this disguise and " spy shot " cat-and-mouse game. On both sides, their talents, time and money could be used doing far more constructive things. .

I think companies usually do heavily disguised test mules, then slowly strip the cladding/disguise off as the date for official PR approaches. Sometimes leaks are unintentional, but I think often they're fully controlled. I suspect this was a controlled release, since the PR is due out sometime this month, or so I've heard.

The rear end still looks better than that ugly one on the E90 sedan, but I won't call it pretty either. Car is nice enough overall though, but not enough to get me real exited about it so far, but I'm sure it will drive very well.
