Default 2007 BMW 335i Coupe

2007 BMW 335i Coupe: Official Photos and Info

The turbocharged 2007 BMW 3-series coupe has 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque in U.S. spec. Also sold here will be 230-hp 328i and all-wheel-drive 328xi coupes.
BY MIKE DUSHANE
April 2006

The BMW 335i coupe that goes on sale in September 2006 may look like nothing more than the latest chapter in the 3-series coupe book, but there are some radical changes under the skin. The 335i (the C goes away on this coupe as it did on the 650i for the 2006 model year) will have a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with piezoelectric direct injection. It’s the first gasoline turbocharged BMW in decades. BMW claims the 335i coupe will accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds — scarcely more than the outgoing E46 M3. Our acceleration times in BMWs typically are even faster than the company’s claimed times, so an instrumented test time of five seconds flat isn’t out of the question.
Models and Pricing

The 335i is expected to carry a base price of at least $42,000. A naturally aspirated 230-hp 3.0-liter also will be available in the 328i coupe. We predict the 328i will cost less than $40,000. The 328i’s engine is a detuned version of the 255-hp inline-six found in the 330i sedan, but thankfully, it isn’t as dumbed down as the 3.0-liter in the 325i sedan that makes only 215 horsepower. An all-wheel-drive 328xi coupe also will be available, but don’t look for the turbo engine with all-wheel drive anytime soon. If 300 horsepower isn’t enough, wait for the 2008 M3 coupe, which is expected to have a 400-hp naturally aspirated V-8 and cost $55,000.

Either way, nice innovation.

EDIT: Or is that other silver button also a trigger for it?
It would be interesting to see exactly how it works. It does look similar to the one in the older Lexus SC cars though, only with a longer arm. The coolent seat belt presentor was the one I had on my Acura Legend Coupe. It was motorized. When you opened the door it would retract backwards. When you closed the door the motor would present it forward. It was a small movement, but enough to make the reach much easier.

The exterior looks decent, but the interior is just all wrong. How come there's only one grab bar on the passenger side? And where's the cupholder? Does the passenger really need 2 cupholders?

I am certain it will be a totally engaging drive but I am not a fan of the interior nor the exterior. It looks rather American in proportions? What happend to the squat, classic short overhangs of German classic cars?

I'll await final judgment in person but very so far in pics.

I am sure it will look better with larger wheels and the sport kit (drop) but then all cars do.

I must say I like this much better than the sedan, it's a little more different from the sedan comapred to the last one, can't wait to see it in person .

it's most definitely better than the sedan, both exterior and interior imho. especially the trunk area, tremendous improvement. though i sitll think it's weird as i said before

of course, the interior is still pretty bad..
