better in the sense that its more broad and doesnt taper off, 350 engine is probably closer to ideal than the old 430

So it will take the 350 engine from the IS and not the ES?

Will it be a detuned IS engine, or identical? I hope it isn't Detuned.

Edit: I just saw the table of engine specs and performance times by Autoweek. Wow, finally a midsize AWD sedan that can MOVE! I'm guessing, GS350 AWD 0-60 is about 6 secs flat

Is there going to be a price increase?

My apologies Och.

Since I don't have those dealers in my area, they slip my mind. The Infiniti's are very nice looking cars.

Audi's been doing 'em for a while. (See RS4, RS6, S4, S6)

You guys will have to forgive me for my lapse of memory last night. Haha.

I don't know how I forgot all those cars.

I wish they made the IS350 in AWD, but at least the GS will be getting the IS's engine. Any idea when the updated GS will hit showrooms?

Don't worry, they are easy to forget. They are not made by Lexus

Not just Dual-VVTi. There's also the dual fuel injection, and a new engine design certainly helps. What Toyota did for it's 3.5L V6; expect to see the same thing for the new 4.6L V8.

Looks like the 2007 E Class gets the 5.5L Benz V8, so the GS460 wont be most powerful in class, but the GS350 should be.

If we go by Lexus estimates, the GS350 offers about the same performance as the GS430, but now you'll be able to also get that performance with AWD. I expect to see a lot of happy GS owners .

Yeah, but the GS460 should be substantially lighter than E550, and with about the same amount of power it should be at least just as fast if not faster.

Plus, the E class with its already flimzy chassis will be even flimzier with added weight.

When I immediatley think of Luxury cars, I think of Lexus, MB, and BMW. I do follow Infiniti, Audi, and Acura to an extent, but no where as close as I do with what i call my 'big 3'

Although i love Infiniti, think think it a fine brand, and car, but the entry level G isnt all that luxurious, its nice but its not that much of a luxury car like the new IS, C, TL, and I dont know if Infiniti is ashamed of its flagship the Q45, but when u see their commericals of the full line, they dont include the Q. do they know its ugly of something and dont want to waste any commerical time slot money (thing) to include that extra second or two?

People said that the current 02-06 ES was ugly ( i didnt think so ) but you see Lexus still came out with commericals of it, even a lil' performance oriented commerical of it reving up and speed down a mountain curvy road

That is true. Benz models are usually pretty porky compared to the competition. Plus, GS460 may have better torque curve thanks to dual fuel injection. If GS350 can get to 60mph in 5.6sec, this is V8 performance coming from a V6. That means GS460 could easily be a sub-5 second car.

well, i wouldn't say that, yet. lexus imho isn't doing much better. the is350 has mad power, but imho the chassis can't really handle the power on turns at all. i found myself tossing the is250 around quite a bit better than the is350. i talked to couple of friends who are into cars and have driven the is350, we all think the car can't handle the power

so to me? i hope the gs460, gs450h (seems like they are doing something with the active sways), the ls460, and the upcoming ls600h, they can handle the power
