Default Lexus hot rod (this is cool)

It is a hot rodder that built an open wheeled rodster with toyota parts and a v8 out of the '92 SC400
Edmunds has this feature on their site with a full article and lots of pics
here is the link and some picks.

Yeah, this was posted up a while ago. It's a 1968 Toyoto Corona with a 1UZ. Car is also in a recent edition of Car Craft or Hot Rod (forget which one though).

It's interesting, but IMO not as nice as this:

This car would be a hoot to drive. I'm surprised it's not quite so fast and why it is still relatively heavy for a car with not a whole lot of body work.

It certainly is interesting looking, but doesn't have the nostalgic and bad *ss look as other hot rods I've seen.

I think flipside909 once said ( and I know he will correct me if I'm wrong ) that he had a chance to actually see, and maybe test-drive, the Rod Millen street rod.

Yes, and unlike the posted thread subject here or the Plymouth Prowler, the Rod Millen model actually LOOKS like a 50's street rod....the classic Deuce.

Not quite. But I did get to sit in the Rod Millen Hot Rod and the coveted RMM built IS430. And we had them for our End of Summer Meet v.4 back in October 05. I will post the photos and a short article of that soon.

As for that Toyota Corona converted Lexus...that's Mitch Allread. His car is definitely unique. He used to work at Area 51 for those that remember that shop.

I remember Area 51... it's THAT Mitch? Really?

I've had dreams of a 1-UZ powered SuperFormance Cobra for a while now...
Loved the Shelby Cobras since i was a kid; I think a mildly built Lexus V8 with a 6-speed Supra trans might be pretty sweet in one. One of these days... have three other project cars to finish first!
