Default Automaker BMW BANNED from Google

http://www.shoutwire.com/viewstory/4...search_results

The reason for the ban is likely to be that the BMW websites have been caught employing a technique used by black-hat search engine optimizers: doorway pages. German and international bloggers last week were quick to spread the news.

http://www.shoutwire.com/viewstory/4...search_results

"The German websites of car maker BMW make use of doorway pages. It’s hard to tell whether or not they intentionally used this blackhat SEO technique, but someone at BMW needs to spend 2-3 hours reading up on how Google and the web works (or fire the company responsible for these doorways)."

Here's what you get when you search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...ctive&q=bmw.de

The official BMW site is: http://www.bmw.de/

That is REALLY funny. Is BMW the first to get banned from Google? I've never heard of anyone getting banned from Google before

It happens all the time. If you break the rules, they will block you. This is nothing new.

It's interesting to see a big company get spanked for breaking the rules. Sucks for BMW, but I'm sure people are not going to have a problem finding their site regardless of being banned.

Someone in the upper web steering committee will have to pack his bags because if this. Serves them right for not playing by the same rules as everyone else.

Kudos to Google for thinking of the greater good and looking out for better and more relevant searches.

well, i mean, if bmw did something wrong, it doesn't matter if it's "over", it's still worth letting the public knows
