Question DOT codes & regulations?

Does anybody know where or how can I get more infos about Department Of Transportation on their codes & regulations about vehicle body parts?
I've tried the website & it's so confused, just like the SAT test

I'm not sure if this is the website you looked at or not, but here is the summary. Scroll down to parts #214 and #216. They deal with the strength of body parts required on roof-crush resistance and door side-impacts.
