DaimlerChrysler’s E-Class model has been on the market since March 2002 and is about to get a restyling due for launch a year earlier than its competitor, in July 2006. The photos are showing a sedan without disguise from all angles. [Editor's Note: a very minor strip of tape was removed by computer]
The modifications include a new front grille with thicker ribs, a front skirt with three air intakes , mildly modified headlights and a new taillight design. Furthermore rumours say that the current SBC brake system is to be replaced by a conventional one.

hmmmm...what happened to those squared GS-like headlights we have been seeing. Oh well. The grill looks photochopped and that new bumper treatment is horrible. I'll take the current one. MB once again messing up a good thing.
Slightly off topic.....These bastards better not torcher the new CL. I will be pissed.

Uh, it looks older. It looks like they actually stepped backward in their designs.
I don't like it. However, the thing I do like that I see is that MB FINALLY accented the fact that their vehicles have dual exhaust instead of just burying it under the rear bumper (unless an AMG model, of course).

Daimler Chrysler is about to give a facelift to the E-Class model which has been on the market since 2003. It is due for launch at the New York Motor Show next month.
These photos are showing both a station wagon and a sedan prototype in full showroom trim during a shooting of a commercial. The restyling includes new head and taillights, front grille and a revised front bumper with new fog lights.
The engine line up for the revamped E-Class will be even more significant than the styling changes. The 5.5 litre V8 fitted to the recently revised SL 500 will replace the old 5.0 litre, and the E 350 benefits from a small increase in power.
