Of note, both Porsche and BMW are above average in reliability.
Well, doug, you're half right. Porsches in general aren't too bad in relibility ( the Boxster is generally worse than the 911 ), but BMW's in general have taken a sharp downturn in the last several years...the 7-series more so than the others.
Even aside from the reliability issue, Porsche parts and service is outrageously high.....some of the highest I have ever seen on a mass-production car....BMW is high but less so.
I think he is talking JDPower, but I won't say BMW is above average according to Consumer Report ratings, it depends on the model too. I think Mini is ranked worse than BMW .
Yes, Porsche is the Euro brand I trust the most in reliability.
Milla, I think you'll love a Boxster or a Cayman, but you want backseats eh , even small ones . . .
It runs around 200 HP, and with an even stiffer, pro-handling chassis and tires than the Cooper S, really turns it into a pocket-rocket. I, personally, though, would NOT want to drive this car on ANYTHING but a glass-smooth road.
224hp I believe is what I read in Automobile magazine. Very impressive for such small car!

I believe the 3-series is now on the recommended list as well as the 525/530.
The fact is that BMW tends to put some serious technology into their cars a bit early and they pay for it dearly. MB is also guilty of this.
can we please talk about the Mini-Cooper, we have hi-jacked this thread.
I love that car and the reviews state its just a blast to drive, tons of fun. And I cannot believe I can actually fit comfortably! There are tons of mods as well and a loyal and fun owners club(s) like us.
My father had an original cooper, I got a pic of it.
And if u track it, its supposed to be TONS of fun.
The main drawback is its reliablity, or lack of it. But we do know who owns Cooper (cheapshot)
Thanks guys for the feed back I'm going to test drive an M3 this weekend and see which suits me better, or see if it will supply me with the same fun experience as the cooper did. I have a friend here who is seriously seriously trying to talk me into this Maserati Cambiocorsa (sp) but I beleive thats a full size coupe and not quite what I'm looking for and is a bit too exotic for my driving needs. All I want is a small zipper, not a Vett/ Porsche/ viper / Ferrari etc. maybe when I'm actually going through the mid life crisis eh. I just turned 34.
Again maintenace is not that big of an issue with me, its a third car, I really don't see this sacrifice crippling my life.
Well I did it, I got an M3 this past sat its Titanium silver Matalic, blk Nappa leather w/ allum shadow trim. Hard top. Did I say I'm in love, I got back from the test drive and insisted that I take this thing home with me, talk about different than what I'm use to. oh and this sucker is fast I'm going to have to be very careful in this. Doesn't feel as go karty as the mini but my goodness it doesn't have to. Stand by for my full review.
As soon as I figure out this picture thing I would like to show off, just a tad ok maybe just little.
