Default high supra

i was looking to get a supra within the next few months. i did some searching on autotrader.com and come across a few. but my question is that one company got a supra for $80,000 already producing 1000 hp and have 8,400 for the oringal miles. Me personal i cant see myself spending that much money on a 1998 but i was thinking, if i get a supra that around mid to low 30's and what if i want 1000hp would it come out to be the same amount of money as the $80,000 supra? i know this is not a supra forum, but there forum is down and i notice a few members on here own supra's. so if anybody have some time i would like for y'all to check them out and give me some insight. another thing how much u think i can talk someone down on these cars? would it be hard to because these cars are rare especially the 97 98 6spd twin turbo models? i was leaning more towards the white or sliver one ( i think they are from the same dealership, the white one is $40k with 28k miles on it and the sliver is $35K with 61K miles on it) thanks

here is the supra that 80k

here are the supra's i was considering to buy

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...g=&cardist=701

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=&cardist=2450

the thing is i kinda want it to be stock so i can pick and choose what performance parts i want for my car. the second thing is color really don't matter because im going to paint it black ( or lexus graphite) and lay down black carpet, sparco miliano racing seats, and stock supra mats. My last question would you reconmend a tachometer for this car? it's gonna be a weekend driving car, i don't want the supra to look too "ricey" i want the interior to look clean as possible along with the exterior. i just think a big as tach setting up on the dash kinda give it that "fast and the furious" look. but if it serves a big, big time purpose then i might consider it

Judging from how they are all really expensive, i'd say the red one... 4th link down with only 15,000 miles would be a good one if ur willing to shell out the $46,000. There are other ones with 55,000 miles going for more than that even. Also, the only aftermarket parts it has are rims, lowering springs, and sways. Looks like the engine is stock. Good luck.

the thing is i want an all stock supra so i can build it up my self but i was curious is it gonna be the same amount of money as buying the "high supra"?

I don't know why you would buy a supra that already has the 1000 horses. The fun of it is building it up yourself, customizing it and tuning it how you want it, not how somebody else has already done it..

i know what you mean, i was just curious on how people felt about paying that much for a supra. My idea was trying to find one bone stock as possible and work on it myself (well i don't do the work but u know what i mean) but is the price Negotiable even though these are some rare cars and how much u think they might take off

If you're getting all of the work done professionally it will come close to the 80k mark. My friend just sent his Supra to TX to be built to 1200-1300 hp at the cost of something like 42k. (I originally saw a check for 35k, but I guess the real number came closer to 42)

I guess with any desire you command a price. I just can't see myself spending that kind of grip on anything with a toyota plate on it. I'd much rather sink my $80k into a used exotic than a used Yota.

Maybe it is just me, but as much as I love Yota...... I don't love it like that.

yea 80g's is high, dam for an extra $20 you can get a bently Gt but i guess after buying a car and then modding the hell out of it it's like the same difference. but i don't think anybody sit there and add all of this stuff up

imo for 80G i rather get like a used 911 turbo or put in some more for a used GT2. or R34 would be pretty rare also. or you can wait for the r35 end of this year.

believe me, for a 97 98 mkIV i don't want to spend no more the 35 for it. because i know im gonna dump a whole lot of money into it to get it the way i want

we live in PA.. we don't have R34's here...

but 80k for a supra is too much... and it's already someone else's project...

go with one of the ones you listed... they're all promising.

i'd personally go with the silver... because i like silver

yea r 34 are nice but i don't know about the wheel on the opposite side, im scraed i might run into something but for the supra, color really don't matter because i want to paint it lexus graphite or even black
im just basically looking for the cheapest 97-98 6spd twin tubro mkIV out there and i think 34k is decent for 61k on the dash. but the main question is are the price negoitable? i mean everything is but since it's a rare car will people come down on the price

hey man, im very active in the supra community and believe me its not worth to invest 80 large on a highly modified car like that....get a stock 97 for about 35k and dump 20k in it and you will have 1000hp!!
