It can all be OK... well maybe not the Ricer thing, but blingers can be damn cool.. Personally I think box Chevy's (old Caprices) on 23's looks sick - I love it. It's totally a fad and will look goofy in a few years, but for now, I enjoy it... I want a set of 24" wires for my old Linc' and some Kandy green paint. VIP however will always look good, especially the mild versions (low - wide look).

I'm a fan of some of the VIP looking cars I've seen. But, as with any type of modding I think that too can be overdone with some cars. Low, clean looking, aggressive bodykits.
Wild widebodies, and some of the extreme exhausts taking away from the luxury appearance don't really do it for me. Of course, "wild" and "extreme" are subjective terms and "to each his own" when it comes to modding. Everybody has their own tastes/styles. That's what keeps it interesting IMO.
One thing I don't fully understand when it comes to form vs. function are the air-runner systems. I can see where it's viewed as the best of both worlds (slammed appearance for shows and regular driveability for daily driving). But, it seems like I can notice the cars that have it because the balance between front and rear never seems to be right when you see the cars or trucks in a daily driving situation.

" The guy with the candy caddy on 22's won't go to sleep with full ***** if he doesn't want to. "

first off, this is one of the funniest damn things I have read in a long time!!!

Secondly, it seems clear to me that all three "classes" here have their own degrees of mild OR extreme style. Venture towards "overdone" no matter what look you are going for and your ride WILL end up looking stupid. Obviously a persons taste depends on many factors such as age, peer group, $$$$. I'm more a fan of VIP than anything, but I can hardly stand to look at some of the extreme VIP stuff coming out of Japan with huge exhaust, overdone kits, gaudy interiors, etc.

BTW, I recall reading an article about how rally racing may potentially strongly influence the next hot style, so there's yet another "class" to start thinking about. EVO's and WRX's are the closest to rally-bred vehicles out there right now. We shall see where this style goes.
