Overhauling-what would Foose do to the Lex?
What a coincidence that this was brought up. I've been thinking about this specific topic lately. This is exactly what I am doing with my GS makeover; sort of a mixture of VIP and American (Chip Foose/Hot Rod) styles, clean and tasteful. I would classify Chip's style as elegant and integrated- even the rear valance is fitted to the exhaust. I've met the guy, and he is a genuine and friendly guy- clearly passionate about what he does!
My GS will likely be two-tone, darker on top. Unique, but clean.

Anyone else watch a recent episode in which he modded the latest model Mustang?
It came out very very nice. The only thing I didn't like (just like others have mentioned) is his choice of wheels. Other than that, the Mustang he modded had a very aggresive and understated look to it. The performance modifications were also very good. They put in a SC, higher gear ratio rear differential and gutted the OEM upholstery and reupholstered with perforated Catskins (not sure that is the correct company name) leather seats. Very very nice!

Easy - it would be the typical Foose car:
- 2-tone with contrasting stripe to separate the colours - on a Lex he would likely do Pearl moss green (top half) and charcoal (bottom) with a gold stripe
- 20" one-off billets in the front and 21" out back, it would be loooow
- Trunk full of molded in audio equipment from Audiobahn and the unveiling would include a rendition of "Gasoline" blaring through the fancy molded in system.
- Supercharger
Foose is a design legend. He does phenomenal work - I just wish he'd mix it up a bit more....
A foose Lexus would be excellent, the lines of an SC would be ideal for this mod/rod treatment.
BTW - Boyd is a total ****** - Avoid the Boyd.

That's a $15k paintjob btw.

Here are the rest of the photos from that meet:

I actually like the paintjob...it's different. Knowing how Foose Designs have extravigant features, at least there are no hideous flames or skulls on this car. It's a factory Absolutely Red IS300 (from the begninning) with a Black Onyx top and silver pinstripe between the red and black. It's not everyone's favorite but it stands out and attention grabbing which it was intended to be in the first place. Its not your average looking monotone colored IS.

I think Foose could bring a nice blend to the import car scene with an obvious US style. What I like about his show builds is that it is a well balanced car. Not just one dominat fetaure and the rest is just ho-hum...good brakes, engine, interior and entertainment wrapped in a top level paint/body work. If we were to comission that level...what might it cost?
