I was driving home just now and saw a dude leaning up on a parked car . When I passed him I could see he had a pen light and a slim jim . I took another pass slower to make sure I had seen everything and then raced home (2 min.) to call the police.

They asked for a description and then had me hold. I could hear the operater tell the cop where to go, she has telling him to get there immiediatly, then she asked me again for more description of who I saw. I waited a little while and I could hear the officer radio in a drivers licence # and I heard her say doesn't match. Then she asked for my info and asked if I would be willing to testify if this was indeed a crime. I wasn't sure if I should stay anonymous; she told me it would be much easier to prosecute if they had a witness, so I relented and gave them my info.

I still feel pumped from the whole thing, it feels really good to catch this guy . I'm normally bashing the cops in my area for being inept and blumbering, but this time they were on the ball

 

Wow!!! And someone out there who was fated to have their car broken into has you to thank for saving them the hassle and horrible loss. A good deed!!!! Everyone should do the right thing as you did.

you definitely did the right thing, and don't be afraid about giving your info to cops for prosecuting. i would tell them in a heart beat. putting crimes down is our responsibilities.

I was scared about this, I live in a reletavly nice area and seeing this happen so close to my house got me worried But the dispatcher convinced me that it would help. Thanks for the kind words, I also hope his arrest leads to more people involved.
