Well time to trade in our Cadillac "Crap"calade. This truck is less than 1 year old and it feels like we've driven it for 5 years, rattles, squeeks, quality...sheesh
The current LX I was told has 290HP...is the next gen LX coming anytime soon? Wonder if its worth waiting for.
The 750 held up pretty well so far, has not been in the shop for anything yet after 4K miles. My M5 should hopefully be here in early Nov (I wonder how many times that thing will go to service).
I miss the GS's NAVI soooooooooooooooooooooo much. The Caddy, while far better than BMW's, is crap compared to Lexus.
You mentioned a new LX. With gas being what it is, and the prospect of going even higher, are you sure you want to invest in another large SUV? Trading in an expensive ( even if crappy ) vehicle like the Escalade after only one year ( the biggest depreciation loss ) you're already going to be taking a bath.
I'm not trying to tell you how to spend your money....just pointing out that this is something to think about.

Look at the cars he mentioned. I dont think gas money is a concern for him.

Welcome back
We honestly have nothing much on the next gen LX, except it maybe called the JX or maybe the JX is added. This will be a monster SUV, based on the nex Tundra, whichwill be a huge truck, to really tackle the Americans. Expect possibly the most power powertrains in class. And hybrids of cours.e

Drove a 06 330i yesterday with Nav. Wow, I can't believe how much better the four year old system in my GS is compared to the brand new BMW Nav. I knew the old one was bad, but jeez! My favorite part of the test ride was after programming the Nav it told me to take a right at the end of the street but showed left on the screen and to the right was a do not enter sign. Loved it. (still a nice car, just needs more power).
Drive it first before you judge it. Reading about it and driving it are two different dynamics.
Ok, drove it today - at the Taste of Lexus. Drove the IS250 and IS350 - both without wood steering wheels (point for Lexus there). I have to admit the IS350 accellerates like a jet. Very nice. The rear seat is a joke but everything else about the interior is beautiful. I can now understand why it came so close to the BMW in the comparison test. Very nice car.

Did you find the ride acceptable? ( you may not have been on a rough enough road to really tell ) The new IS series...even the supposedly designed-for-bad-weather AWD IS250....to my knowledge no longer has the taller, softer-riding 55-series all-season tire option the 2001-2005 did. You're pretty much stuck with the 45's.
