The New Lexus designs (L-Finesse influenced) will definately redefine the meaning of luxury. It's good that they are truly differentiating themselves from Toyota's designs.

I think that the GS and SC sold well in Japan because of simple, clean, and organized design. Japanese culture is very aesthetic, and Lexus hits the mark with artistic design. People will always praise various automakers for "break-through" design, like Chrysler or Audi, but when it comes to practicality, most consumers want driver-friendly cars with safety, gas efficiency, and comfort, not excessive power and over-dramatic styling. Lexus knows what the public wants...

Very true. And I have to say, when I first saw the new GS design, I did not care for it at all. But over the past 6 months it has really grown on me. I saw one last night in white and it looked so good - classy, sporty, stylish - It stands out, yet isn't flashy - a very timeless design which should age very well.
