Okay everyone, I live just north of Dallas and just payed $2.697 per gallon (with a 10cent Kroger discount) on a tank of 89 octane gas. I'd like evryone to tell me how much gas is going for around where they live. So I can either feel better about where I live (or worse) and simply to compare prices around the U.S./World.

89 in this area ( Washington D.C. metro area ) averages a little more than that.....more in MD and DC than in VA, where gas taxes are lower.
$2.70 for 89 sounds a little high for Texas.....even for good name-brand fuel. Shop around in your area ( Denton? ) and see if you can find good gas a little lower. Texas has (or should have ) lower gas prices than most other states simply by being so close to the drilling and refineries....transportation costs are low.
BTW....the cheapest gas I ever saw in America was when I lived in Austin.
i just paid $2.62 today for 93 octane at BJ's gas. not bad considering dave and others paid over $2.80 at lexfest just a few days ago about an hour and a half south of here.
