No. Mini is nowhere near a match on top. Mini is a novelty/chic car. No offense. Mini doesnt look sexy, its cute. But its just my opinion. Keep the SC4. If you do trade, upgrade.

Unfortunately, us SC4 owners don't have the plethora of mods availiable to us like you SC3 owners.
You have a much better top end though quarter mile times if your car is in good running order the manual mini S is in the high 14s, your in the low 15s the auto mini is in the high 15s.

0-60 times are pretty much meaningless obselete form of measurement.

We're not talking " images" here. Auto images are nonsense. We're talking about a product.....a car....... that this person has to live with every day and depend on.

The Mini is a fun car, admittedly, on SMOOTH, winding roads and is very space-efficient for its size, but IMO has several flaws. It is noisily and rides quite harshly...especially in the Cooper S and John Works versions, has a well-below average reliability record from Consumer Reports (the best source available) , high demand and short supply has led to waiting lines and dealer markups, and the large, center-mount speedometer, while clear and legible, takes some getting used to as you have to shift your eyes sideways off the road to read it. You also have to put up with the snootiness of BMW dealerships...the Mini's parent company.

If you can accept these shortcomings and really want a Mini, go for it. There is also a soft-top convertible version available now with a top that folds back in two postions, one part-back to simulate a sunroof, and two, full-back accordion-style, like the VW Beetle's.

I made up my mind the other day and forgot to update you guys.

I'm keeping the SC4.

Repaint and partial 97+ conversion to come soon, and some very vile things will be happening under the hood.

Naughty, Naughty.....we mustn't do that now.

Seriously, if you are used to an SC, you probably made the right choice. I don't think you would really like a Mini. Its ride will beat you up on anything but glass-smooth roads, and the center-mount speedo IMO is a no-no.

Eh, a rough ride isn't really a huge worry of mine anyway.

My Dad's got a built Jeep on air bags in the back, and the thing is so tight and bounces so much that it's almost difficult to control the thing on the road.

And the SC4's getting suspension upgrades anyway.

Yeah, a Wrangler, ( if that is your dad's Jeep ) even with stock suspension, is a long way from a luxury car....the pre-1997 ones with leaf springs even more so. Most of you guys are younger than I am...probably with stronger backs and legs, and, I guess, don't mind a rough ride.

Anyhow, congrags and good luck with the SC.

(P.S....if you want to see a hard-core Jeep stock and brand-new, check out the Unlimited Wrangler Rubicon)

Haha .. if you think a mini cooper rides harsh...

I personally like harsh riding vehicles makes driving fun.. especially on the no sway turns.
