Default Turbo 3 series caught testing in CA

Here are some pictures of a new 3 series caught in a parking lot evidently with a entourage of other bmw's some guy from bimmerfest.com caught the pictures .. the car is sporting dual exhaust .. and yes It definitely is not a turbo diesel with a 7k redline .. could this be the long rumored 335I twin turbo .. I wonder where it would leave the IS350 and I have a feeling those pictures at the ring of the supposed high performance IS with the bulging hood are for real.. well here are the links to the pictures and link to the thread at bimmerfest they are two big for me to post below .. looks tempting ..

You gotta give it to the Germans to always offer a full range of engine options for every model in their lineups. Lexus has said they'll start doing the same but I doubt if they'll ever come close to such a variety.

I guess from what I have read all over .. the car is supposed to have some sort of a sequential twin turbo setup to reduce lag ... and its supposed to bridge the huge gap between the upcoming v8 m3 and the 330 bmw ... im pretty sure that dual exhaust supposed beefed up IS at the nurb was probably being tested to counter this thing .. I guess time will tell as usual.

It's about time bimmers come turbocharged stock, I hope they left room for mods like having a stronger bottom end running low boost stock.

Here's an IS in black.

wow, now that's some interesting info. i guess we will just have to see how well the is350 goes with the current 330. for sure it has to outperform, otherwise lexus wont' stand a chance. then the next question is how much better the is350 is, and if bmw realy has the 335turbo, then it would be a good match

but another question is, if there is a 335 turbo, they probaly don't want to make it too aggressive, unless that will be the new m3?

The new M3 is gonna carry a 400hp 4.0L V8, so the gap from the 330hp 335ti should still be large enough.

ah good point, true that the m3 will still probably come on top quite a bit.

This 335 is going to cause TROUBLE. It will cost more, maybe M3 money when loaded. It wil more than likely offer a manual, while the IS still goes with the paddle shifters. The thought of a turbo 3 is going to make enthusiasts moist.
